Concrete Scanning Edmonton
Concrete scanning is crucial when needing an inside view of any reinforcement, utility pipes, conduits and concrete thickness. This information can be extremely valuable, saving on costs and increasing safety when planning wall or floor cutting and removal.
Stone Concrete can provide you with concrete inspection service utilizing non-destructive testing with ground-penetrating radar scanning. Our technicians are experienced and are well-equipped in the area of structural inspection. It is always important to check before you dig or cut.
GROUND PENETRATING RADAR (GPR)
Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) can be utilized to image concrete slabs and walls using high-frequency radar signals which are directed into the concrete. When the radar signals are reflected back to the device, a clear, real time image is created. Using this image, we can also determine the concrete thickness as well as the exact spacing of the concrete.
We utilize the Hilti PS1000 Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) in order to scan concrete up to 15.75 inches thick from one side so this can be combined to examine up to 31.5” thicknesses when able to gain access from both sides. The PS1000 offers a real-time view of the inside of concrete structures and generates accurate images automatically for direct, on-site evaluation. Our scanning service allows us to verify slab thickness and determine the depth of material cover on reinforcement and also provides us the ability to locate electrical utilities, pipelines, rebar and other features within any concrete structure before we start the cutting or coring process.
